What's due this week?

If you can't answer this question, it's time for a lesson in time management. Whether you run a household or a corporation, knowing how to get the most out of your time is critical.

This does not mean running around at light speed either. The key to effective time management is to know what's important in your life and then plan your time accordingly,

There are many helpful books on the subject, but in case your reading time is taken up with college materials , here are some helpful hints to get you started:

  • GET A PLANNER! Many colleges provide them for FREE
  • Meet with your family weekly to update the calendar
  • Write down committments as you get them. This includes class meeting time, assignments, and tests
  • Schedule time just for yourself
  • Don't over schedule yourself (there's only 24 hours in day!)
  • Block out time for studying
  • Review your planner everyday so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Take a class or seek help from a campus counselor
  • Determine what is truly important and then spend your time accordingly (Remember - urgent is not always important)
  • Use a timer to keep track of what you are doing
  • Avoid time drainers
