Face it, Moms are the queens of multitasking. It's a great skill but not always realistic when it comes to completing your college work. No matter how hard you try, it's impossible to study for a statistics test and give driving lessons to your teenage son at the same time.
Sometimes moms are going in so many directions at one time that they actually forget how to focus. Sharpen your focusing skills by:
Journaling - writing 2-3 pages a day all in one setting. Some call it speed writing. What ever comes to your brain, write it down. The key is to focus on just writing whatever comes to mind - without editing!
Meditating/Prayer - Set a timer and sit still for 10 minutes with your eyes shut (don't fall asleep). Focus on clearing your mind. Think about your favorite spot on the beach. Listen to the birds outside. Don't let any outside thoughts enter your mind. 10 minutes will seem like a long time at first but this time can really boost your energy.
Read More - Watch TV less - While reading a steamy romance novel can be a nice escape, try choosing a non-fiction book. This helps you practice reading for information and then applying what you have read. Afterall, that's what you'll be doing at college. Here's a list of my favorites.
