Let's focus on You!

Before you even enter the classroom it's important that you are healthy and ready to go. So many moms put themselves last on their list of priorities. If you don't take care of yourself, who will? Besides, when was the last timeyour 11-year old son said, "Gee mom, you look stressed. Why don't you give yourself a pedicure? Sorry moms, it's just not going to happen. Taking care of yourself doesn't have to take a lot of time but it does take consistency and committment.

Look Great, Feel Great!

Take inventory of your routines. Do you wash your face, moisturize, brush your teeth, take your vitamins/ medications ...every night? Consistency in these areas pay off in how you look and feel in the long run.

How do your clothes fit? So you are not getting any new clothes until you are a size 8? How long have you been waiting? Comfort is the name of the game in the classroom. Comfort does not have to mean sloppy either. Make the most of what you have and fill in with extra pieces. If funds are as tight as your waistband, look into your local thrift shop. Sort your closet by article. Get rid of things you haven't worn in a year. Mentally go through various outfit combinations to minimize the "what am I going to where" dilemna.

How's your hair? Get it cut into a style that is easy and feels great. If your "whites" are starting to show (that's what my daughter calls gray) and it's bugging you - change it! Clairol can offer some advice (if you are feeling brave!)
