Moms from all over the valley are asked this question everyday. It’s a simple question…if you have an answer. When I went back to school the easy reply became…”Every man for himself night!” This was all good and fine the first 10 times but soon my children became disgruntled eating Top Ramen Oriental Noodles with a side of Lucky Charms night after night. Needless to say, my husband wasn’t thrilled either. On the flip side, no one wanted to eat the same homemade chili three times in a week. It became clear that I had to use some organizational skills in the kitchen and start thinking ahead. I started with the grocery store. I do major grocery shopping on payday week and just pick up fresh fruits, veggies and milk on the opposite week. (grocery shopping help)
Now my menu is set up for two weeks. The premise is this…always cook today with tomorrow in mind. Pretty soon it will become second nature and you will be naturally planning ahead. The meals on the following menu are pretty high in calories, I understand that they might not meet your nutritional needs or tastes. For myself, I try to fill in these meals with vegetables, salad or fruit Try to take the foods you normally eat and cook them in an order that will minimize your kitchen time.
